Barcelona Sketching Pencil — Grenadilla Wood

Invitation of spontaneity. The Barcelona sketching pencil in Grenadilla — dense, dark, and weighted for a slow hand. Named for the city where the form was first made, it carries a 5.5mm replaceable graphite lead. Chrome-plated brass push device and tip. A pencil that suits the desk as much as the sketchbook.

Jean-Frédéric Fesseler turns his by hand in a Berlin atelier he shares with his father, a furniture restorer and his first teacher. Each piece passes through more than a hundred steps and emerges singular, hand-turned from fine woods — Grenadilla, Finnish birch — fitted to precision mechanisms so that function and grain hold in accord. His signature lies in the finishing: drawing out the color and depth each wood has developed over the years.
