Norlha

"With the rhythm of the plateau"

Norlha works with yak khullu—a rare undercoat gathered each spring from free-roaming herds on the Tibetan Plateau. Thick yet yielding, the fiber is known for its softness, natural warmth, exceptional insulation, and durability. Spun, woven, and felted by hand in Ritoma village, each textile reflects the pace and texture of highland life, bringing depth to modern interiors.

Since 2007, Norlha has sustained a living tradition of Tibetan weaving. Former herders now work as artisans, using looms introduced centuries ago. This is not heritage kept behind glass, but one shaped daily through continuity, care, and craft—anchored to land, and carried forward through touch.
