Handcrafted by Jean-Frédéric Fesseler, DE, c. 2026.
The Berlin Mini in Finnish birch — pale, distinctively grained, compact enough for a pocket. The birch lightens the form without reducing it; the flamed structure means each piece is its own. Nickel-plated brass push device and tip.
The act of writing is thinking made physical. The instrument held at that moment carries the thought before the words do. Jean-Frédéric Fesseler turns his by hand in a Berlin atelier he shares with his father, a furniture restorer and his first teacher. Each piece passes through more than a hundred steps and emerges singular, hand-turned from fine woods — Grenadilla, Finnish birch — fitted to precision mechanisms so that function and grain hold in accord. His signature lies in the finishing: drawing out the color and depth each wood has developed over the years.
