Handcrafted by Kenichi Sasakawa, JP, c. 2026.
A generous, round-bodied bowl that sits low and steady — wide enough for fruit, yogurt, or grain, transparent enough to make a simple breakfast feel considered. The grey-blue glass takes on a particular quality in morning light, the suspended bubbles most visible against pale tones. As easy to leave on a shelf as to reach for at the table.
Working from his studio in Kyoto, Kenichi Sasakawa creates glass vessels from a mixture of recycled glass and metal materials, producing a distinctive fabric of fine bubbles suspended throughout each piece. His work moves between art and daily use — guided by a background in industrial design and an interest in forms that feel grounded in the hand and responsive to their surroundings, revealing the subtleties of breath, light, and temperature.
