Handcrafted by Li Yao, CN, c. 2026.
A conical dripper rests directly on a handled server, the two forming a compact, self-contained set for a single or double pour. Both pieces are decorated in blue-and-white — the server with pine, bamboo, and prunus in a landscape register above a band of geometric medallions; the dripper with lattice and flowering branch. The unglazed iron-brown rims and a single red accent on the dripper introduce contrast and mark the hand that made them. A set that brings the slow ritual of pour-over coffee into contact with a longer decorative tradition.
Li Yao's work celebrates the ephemeral beauty of life. Since 2002, she has reimagined classic Chinese motifs — cranes, rabbits, and florals — through vibrant red-and-green enamel and intricate blue-and-white porcelain. Inspired by the world around her, from the graceful cranes at sunset to the blooming flowers of Hangzhou, her ceramics bridge the past and present, offering a fresh perspective on tradition while honoring its enduring beauty.
Sold as a set of dripper and server.
