Unique work.
The Fair Ram is the 22nd sculpture in Xiong’s Fair & Square Series, a collection that reinterprets ancient Chinese artifacts through a contemporary lens. Inspired by the form and spirit of bronze ritual vessels, this piece draws from the ram—an enduring symbol of loyalty, fairness, and quiet strength. As noted by artist Chauncey J. Hamlin, the sculpture embodies “the echoes of the ancient and the melody of the contemporary,” fusing past and present into a singular, timeless presence.
Guided by a philosophy of preserving tradition through innovation, Xiong channels the forthright, unadorned essence of ancient bronze into the Fair Ram. Its subtle glazing and minimalist design evoke natural refinement, embodying the spirit of traditional craftsmanship while expressing a distinctly modern sensibility. Each piece in the Fair & Square Series reflects Xiong’s commitment to bridging history and modernity, offering a fresh perspective on cultural heritage.
