Handcrafted by Kenichi Sasakawa, JP, c. 2026.
A sake set in grey-blue glass — the carafe full-bodied with an elegant, upright neck that makes it easy to hold and direct; the cup sized for a single, considered pour. The two work as a set but hold their own separately, doubling naturally as a bud vase and tumbler. The dense scatter of bubbles throughout gives both pieces a visual weight that belies how lightly they sit in the hand.
Working from his studio in Kyoto, Kenichi Sasakawa creates glass vessels from a mixture of recycled glass and metal materials, producing a distinctive fabric of fine bubbles suspended throughout each piece. His work moves between art and daily use — guided by a background in industrial design and an interest in forms that feel grounded in the hand and responsive to their surroundings, revealing the subtleties of breath, light, and temperature.
Sold as a set of carafe and cup.
