Acorn Ceramic Vase — One of a Kind

A one-of-a-kind vessel in the form of an acorn, wood-fired so that the surface moves between matte and glossy across the body — cream where the flame gathered, deeper tones where the ash settled. A darker cap crowns the top, and the narrow opening at the tip holds a single stem — a spring branch, a stem of wildflowers, a sprig of berries. 

Wu Jingwen's ceramic studio is nestled in Jingdezhen, the porcelain capital of China. Her work is defined by its fluid, organic forms — vessels that resist predefined purposes, instead inviting their owners to imagine new possibilities. Trained in animation, Wu brings a poetic sensibility to her craft, capturing fleeting moments and infusing them into her designs.
